Explanation

What is the Wilks coefficient?

Created by Robert Wilks, CEO of Powerlifting Australia, the Wilks coefficient serves the purpose of enabling fair comparison of powerlifters' strength, notwithstanding variations in weight and gender, as well as the conventional weight divisions in competitive weightlifting.

The Wilks formula

There is one universal formula that we can apply to all weightlifters, both male and female. The only thing that differs between the two sexes is the coefficients used in the equation.
